Budget Policy Statement - submission resources

In mid-December, the Government released its Budget Policy Statement (BPS), a document which sets the stage for how it will spend New Zealand’s pūtea / money in 2026.

For a third year running, the BPS makes no mention of child poverty. Amid rising child poverty rates, this cannot stand.

Workshops

This year, CPAG is running three submission workshops on Zoom to help you put your submissions together.

They’ll be on Monday 12 January (1-3pm), Tuesday 13 January (6-8pm) and Wednesday 14 January (10-12pm).

Attending is totally free - you just need to register so we can email you the Zoom link.

Templates

We’re also offering free templates to help people of all ages have their say on how the Government should spend our money.

These are Google Docs, which you can make a copy of, save, and write into from a web browser anywhere, as long as you have a Google account.
