George is a proud New Zealander of Niuean decent. He migrated to New Zealand in the 80s with his grandparents and sisters in search of education and new opportunities. His qualifications include: BMS – Social Work, PGDip – Maori Development, MBA and Master of Public Policy.
George currently works in the education sector and previously worked for Child Youth and Family for over 10 years. His experience as a frontline social worker opened his eyes to the full impact of poverty on our children, families and our communities. It also fuelled his determination and belief that systematic change has to occur, through child focused and family centered policies, if we truly want our children, families and communities to make meaningful, positive and sustainable changes for themselves.
As a servant leader, George is excited about being part of the CPAG family. As a husband and father of two, he is looking forward to using his experience and education to actively contribute to the future narrative of child poverty.
