Gerry joined CPAG late in 2013 and currently chairs its research committee.
Based at the University of Auckland, Gerard is primarily engaged in research management and social and public policy research.
Gerry's background is a mixture of academic work and as a public servant and trade unionist. He recently completed a PhD which looked at the impact of the welfare reforms introduced in the last few decades in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Living in South Auckland he sees the impact of policies that punish children and their families and wishes to be part of an organisation that seeks to reverse them and provide evidence for sound solutions.
