The one issue that confronts me every day is that many New Zealand children are suffering needlessly because they live in poverty —and it is not fair! Meningococcal disease, skin infections, chestiness, limited areas to play, crowded homes, vaccine-preventable diseases, deafness, fewer educational options—the list is endless.
