Information Evening: Be the voice New Zealand children need

On Wednesday 23 August, CPAG held a free Information Evening at the University of Auckland Business School.

We covered

  • CPAG – our vision and mission.

  • Current child poverty situation in New Zealand – how to talk about it.

  • Advocacy and education – how to make change happen and be a voice for New Zealand's children

  • Time for questions and discussion over pizza provided by CPAG.

Attendees heard about how children in poverty don't get many choices - and how they, as our nation's next leaders, economists, teachers, doctors and nurses, writers, social workers, policy experts (the list goes on!) hold the power to enact change, so that together we can achieve the New Zealand we want.

The kĊrero was an informative evening, and will be followed by a workshop later in the year that will help equip attendees with ways to become involved in a meaningful way. The day will be interactive and include short presentations as well as some group activities. More details will come later.
