The final protest is happening in Palmerston North!
#ParkUp:Palmy is here!
WE ARE FAMILY: our families are parking up for those without homes. Will you join us?
The #ParkUpForHomes movement has seen significant support throughout this winter, and as a result there has been astounding growth in public consciousness that housing has reached crisis point and many in our communities are without homes. We are grateful to the many who have beeng standing up to say that everyone deserves a home: not a car, not a garage, a home.
On Friday 2 September, 2016 from 7pm to 9am, we invite you to join our families and park up in our cars in Palmerston North for the night to show solidarity with the families who have to do it on a regular basis, in what will be the final event in this part of the Everyone Deserves a Home campaign.
Let's drive home the message to our policy makers that we care, and that real meaningful change for those in need must happen now.
Park Up For Homes: Palmerston North will be a safe, alcohol free, FAMILY FRIENDLY peaceful protest with music, sausage sizzles and speakers. Public toilets will be available.
Visit the Facebook event for more info and to RSVP.
ParkUp:Palmy is run by local people standing up for change. In partnership with Child Poverty Action Group.
Funds raised through this event a local housing charity in support of their emergency housing provision and all they have done for families in need.
